I'm an American living in Italy, a translator by trade, father of a beautiful daughter, and an integral practitioner. I also enjoy cycling, hiking, cross-country skiing, and reading (and, someday soon, writing) speculative fiction.

OK, this sucks!  I had just written a whole bunch of stream of consciousness stuff about myself to update this “about me” stuff and then my browser froze up and I lost everything! No really! Oh wait. No, my dog ate it. Anyway, damn. Now I have to do it all over again I guess.

So, that first paragraph was written when I first got here, and as you can see I'm not the kind of guy who's particularly good at writing about himself.  And this for a couple of different reasons that I can see right now. One is that I start out (incorrectly of course) with the notion that I should try and impress each and every one of you, and a lot of the time I don't feel like a particularly impressive guy. Second, I tend to avoid pigeonholing myself by saying “I am” anything. I mean, we all are so many things, many of which contradict many of the other things “we are”, and yet we all are also pretty much just one and the same thing, so why bother saying anything when we already know each other anyway?

For example, I used to “be” a vegan, but then I felt like that was too confining, so I decided to retrain myself not to be disgusted by meat so that I could go out and have a good time with my non-vegan friends without having to somehow drag the others down either by dictating where we should go or by complaining that the place we're at doesn't know how to cater to vegans. Feel free, all you militant vegans ;-) to flame me for falling off the wagon, but that's just who I am. (There's that paradox again…)

Integral? Psychotic? Who knows? As long as I'm not locked up, I guess I'm fairly sane! (Hmmm… where'd that come from!? Oh well, this is stream of consciousness stuff… mixed in with a bit of remembering what I had posted before I lost it all. Anyway…)

So who am I? I don't know. You tell me. And yet I do know. I'm you, you're me, we're all one. Let's discover ourselves together!
